IMPACT Programme
Studies suggest underachieving young people who take part in sport see a 29% increase in numeracy skills and a 12 – 16% increase in other transferable skills. Our IMPACT programme is centred to encourage and challenge positive behaviour through sport when working with young people with SEN to those with SEMH needs. We have collaborated with a forensic psychologist who has revolutionised this programme by dissecting the whole programme whilst implementing the relevant theory and making it adaptable to the young people in our care.
Mentoring Programme:
Our Mentoring sessions focus on getting the best out of the chosen participants that we work with by adapting our curriculum through sport to make the progress and hit the personal targets set.
Each session focuses on the below aspects:
Social
Every session challenges the participants socially to integrate and communicate in various ways, from assessing their peers to making new friends.
Physical
All our sessions develop the participants physically and coaches motivate them to get the best out of themselves and encourage them to set and exceed targets.
Personal
Through the power of sports and tailored coaching we improve young people’s personal
skills, such as determination and confidence; characteristics we have found through research to be some of the most important outcomes of physical activity and driving behaviour change.
Cognitive/Mental
Developing these skills is key to not only sporting lives but everyday life. Our coaches will help participants to improve their cognitive movement patterns and thinking skills.
